Akuafoil Bookmarks

Akuafoil is a multi-color metallic foil printing process that produces a shimmering, rainbow-like finish you simply cannot achieve with standard ink. A silver-based liquid foil is applied to your artwork first, then full-color CMYK printing is layered directly on top of that foil. The result is a mosaic of brilliant, glowing colors with a metallic sparkle underneath. Every color in your design takes on a luminous, shifting quality depending on the light and angle. It is one of the most visually striking finishes available in bookmark printing.

Traditional foil stamping typically uses a single metallic color, like gold or silver, applied to specific areas of your design. Akuafoil is different because it supports the full CMYK color spectrum printed over the foil base. That means your entire design, gradients, photos, logos, and all, can shimmer with multi-color metallic brilliance rather than being limited to one foil color. It is a more vibrant and flexible option for designs that need more than a single-color foil accent.

• Color Mode: CMYK. RGB files will be converted and color shifts can occur, so designing in CMYK from the start gives you the most accurate results

• Safe Zone: Keep text and logos at least 0.125" inside the trim line

Yes. A standard 1/8" drill hole can be added at checkout so you can attach your own tassel, ribbon, or cord after delivery. Please note: strings, ribbons, and tassels are not included and must be sourced separately. Only the 1/8" size is available for Akuafoil bookmarks, unlike standard bookmarks which also offer a 1/4" option.

Yes. Add the design service to your order and PrintMagic's creative team will handle the artwork, including any mask file setup required for Akuafoil and Spot UV. Options include 1 concept with 3 revisions, 2 concepts with 4 revisions, or 3 concepts with 5 revisions. Given the complexity of Akuafoil file setup, the design service is worth considering if you want to ensure your file goes to press correctly the first time.
